Camp HLC offers a safe, supportive space for kids carrying caregiving responsibilities far beyond their years, helping them process, connect, and build resilience.
With donor support, we plan to expand into new regions, including the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and underserved communities, so families no longer need to travel long distances to participate. This growth ensures geography is never a barrier to the emotional support and coping tools children need while navigating a parent’s ALS diagnosis.

HLC is launching Q&A(LS)—the first national digital library of caregiving tools created specifically for children and parents facing ALS.
This groundbreaking hub will deliver age-appropriate resources, caregiver guidance, stories, and emotional-wellness tools to support families through every stage of the ALS journey.
Designed to be accessible and scalable, Q&A(LS) blends education, storytelling, and coping resources to become the go-to platform for young caregivers nationwide, ensuring no child faces a parent’s ALS diagnosis without knowledge, support, and hope.
